Below are specific ways you can assist Habitat in our mission to end
poverty housing in Saline County, and help families realize the
dream of home ownership.
Construction Volunteers
By becoming a construction volunteer, you can help build homes, provide
meals for work crews and help host by making sure everyone has
signed in and filled out the appropriate forms. Click on
the buttons below to learn more about these specific builds.
  
Tuesday Crew
Tuesday Crew volunteers are those that we call on during
the week to do construction
tasks that take between 2 - 10 people. These tasks usually
involve finishing out the home.
Adopt - A- Program and Restaurant Partnership
Businesses and groups can help by adopting a day to work or by providing
meals and drinks for the construction crew. Contact
Amy Bennett at 501-315-5434 if your business is interested in
joining us.
Family Support
By becoming a Family Support volunteer, you work with the
Habitat Partner Families to help prepare them for homeownership.
You can also join the Family Selection Committee to help
decide who Habitat for Humanity of Saline County will build
homes for.
Publicity / Public Relations
By becoming a Publicity or Public Relations volunteer, you can
help by press writing, photography, newsletter writing and
publication and public speaking. You can also help man
information
booths at special events held throughout the year.
Youth United
Youth United is made up of youth in Saline County wanting to
make a difference. They meet September-May at the Benton
Chamber of Commerce.
Refreshments
We always need meals, snacks, and drinks to provide to our
construction volunteers. If you or your group are interested in
bringing a refreshments out to our worksite, please contact Amy
Bennett at 315-5434 to sign up.
Committees
Without the support of our volunteers behind the scene, homes
for deserving families
would never be built. Listed below are the committees
currently being served on.
Board of Directors
Habitat's Board is charged with governance,
fund raising, advocacy and strategic planning.
Church Relations
Contact congregations to encourage support
of Habitat's mission. Recruit a member of the
congregation to be a representative for Habitat.
Construction
Makes
decisions regarding house plans
and construction.
Family Selection
Reviews applications and decides which
families will be chosen to build homes for.
Family Mentor
Assigned to a Habitat Partner Family and
helps them through the building progress
and with becoming a new home owner
Habitat ReStore
Volunteer, donate items to or shop at the Habitat ReStore.
The ReStore is staffed by volunteers and
the profits go directly to build Habitat homes. They are located at
124 S Market Street in Benton
and can be reached by phone at 501-315-0011. Hours are 9-5
Monday through Saturday.
